I enjoyed the video on connectivism! I would love for all of our students to be able to connect with more people through out the world and to blogs; however, we still have to break through our "Blocked" issue.

it's not blocked anymore - if you are going to have kids use it with usernames and passwords, let's check out policy and make sure we've covered our bases - would love to see how it worked with kids

I have checked out this website. It is very cool. Students can completely direct their own learning. However, it is blocked on the school's network, so I have not used it with my students.

Interesting point regarding the absence of a hierarchy in the informal writing done on wikis and blogs. Currently, I use writing clubs for students to set goals, collaborate on writing, and support each other throughout the writing process. However, the overarching objectives in these clubs are to support each other as writers and taking pieces of writing to the presentation stage. I am interested and ready to give wikis and/or blogs a try. (I have used blogs in second grade, but I feel like I am ready to investigate blogging in a more meaningful, academic, reflective way, perhaps within the framework of writers' workshop.)

This is a great graphic. I can't wait to get to the point where I am using all of these resources for myself and with the students. It is exciting to see that some of things I already do fit the profile of networked teacher.

Glad you have found my posts useful. My way is definitely iGoogle with Google Reader attached which brings the information to me.

I've just set up a new site to help people and put all the information in one place. You might find it also helpful. It's called PLN Yourself.

Hey Therese!

You are welcome. I really like this format for sharing information. I tried to create an RSS feed so that my 'subscribers' (parents) could automatically know when I update my blog. Can you let me know if you figure that out on edublogs? I would like to subscribe to your blog via RSS and would like my families to subscribe to my blog.
